A revered youth group operating under the aegis of Delta Ijaw Comrade Community have stated that the group is proud of the visible and productive leadership qualities of Amb. (Dr) Shedrack Agediga, Executive Director, Planning, Research and Statistics, Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC).
The group made the commendation on Friday in Warri during a thank you visit spearheaded by Comr. Austin Ozobo, Special Assistant (SA) to the Delta State Governor, His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa on political matters.
According to leader of the Delta Ijaw Comrade Community, Comr. Williams Welemu Jnr, while reacting to the visit, he had appreciated Agediga on behalf of the entire Delta Ijaw Comrade Community, stressing that the very essence of the formation of DICC is as a result of Shedrack Agediga’s benevolence towards youths of Delta State and Nigeria at large.
On his part, Comr. Austin Ozobo, facilitator of the visit had appreciated Amb. Dr. Shedrack Agediga for the audience granted to him and members of the comrade community within a short period of notice, adding that his likes are rare in the contemporal political arrangements of the Nigerian politics.
Comr. Ozobo particularly noted that the visit was to thank the revered Ijaw leader for also making contacts which dovetailed to paving the way for him to become an SA to the Governor of Delta State, stressing that the visit was to show gratitude and appreciation to the DESOPADEC Executive Director. For all he has been doing for him and the comrade family.
In his marathon speech of appreciation, Ozobo said he couldn’t seat at the comfort of his house without seeing Dr. Shedrack Agediga to thank him, adding that he will continue to be indebted to him.
However, Amb. Binebai Yerin Princewill had earlier in his speech noted that while most Niger Delta youths will continue to be indebted to Dr. Shedrack Agediga, he had maintained that his leadership qualities remains a shining example to others.
Stressing that he is proud of Shedrack Agediga and will be grateful to him for all he has been doing for him personally, to the comrade community and others as well, praying that the Lord Almighty shall continue to increase him financially for the betterment of the society.
Meanwhile, high point of the visit was the thought provoking speech which was considered as an eye opening lecture among the comrades by Amb. Dr. Shedrack Agediga.
In his speech, the leader charged youths to be more organised and never to relent in whatever they are doing, adding that his story should be a good example to the upcoming youths, adding that the youths must take their destinies into their hands, stressing that the much talk about phrase that youths are the leaders of tomorrow is a statement that if care is not taken among the youths, it won’t come bye and that the envisaged tomorrow is today.
Agediga had charged youths of Ijaw nation, Niger Delta and Nigeria to push for a better deal, stressing that with God nothing is impossible.
