Delta State COVID-19 Ambassador and philanthropist, Chief (Amb) Austin Eruotor in continuation of the COVID-19 awareness and sensitization campaign in Delta State on Tuesday 16th Feb, 2021 visited the Gbaramatu Kingdom where he paid a courtesy visit to the The Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oboro Gbaraun II Aketekpe, Agadagba.
Chief (Amb) Austin Eruotor while at the palace said it is only right as custom and courtesy demands that he pays a visit to His Royal Majesty and convey in person the message of preventing the spread of the deadly corona virus before he proceed in relaying the message to the people of the Kingdom.
Chief Eruotor said “traditional rulers as the bridge between the government and the people are a very reliable channel to spread the message of practicing personal hygiene necessary in reducing the spread of COVID-19 and they should continue to speak with one voice on issues bordering on the South-South Region”.
Speaking further, Chief (Amb) Austin Eruotor stated that a king that welcomes people with the intention of bringing awareness and development to his kingdom is a king that has the best interest of the people of his kingdom at heart and His Royal Majesty, Oboro Gbaraun II Aketekpe, Agadagba The Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom is an embodiment of such quality in high regard.
And as a result of the roles the rulers play in engineering peace, unity and harmony in their various domains.
We’ll continue to engage the wisdom of our rulers like His Royal Majesty, Oboro Gbaraun II Aketekpe, Agadagba, The Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom. Whom he described as a ruler who has the ears of his kingdom, and is always ready to champion courses that are beneficial to Gbaramatu Kingdom and the entire Delta State.
The Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oboro Gbaraun II Aketekpe, Agadagba on his part expressed appreciation to Chief (Amb) Austin Eruotor for his thoughtfulness to pay a visit to his palace with respect to the ongoing statewide sensitization and awareness campaign on the dangers and spread of COVID-19.
Saying he is happy with the awareness campaign and promise to help spread the message and purpose of the visit to his Kingdom and the entire state.
The Chairman of Oporoza Community, Amb. Labort Tonfawei as well enjoined words with that of the Pere, in appreciating the Hon. Ambassador, for deeming it fit to take the sensitization campaign to the kingdom. Says the decision is indeed applaudable, as it has further opened the eyes of the people of the kingdom to see that the Covid-19 virus is real, and the need for them to take precautionary measures in order to stay safe.
