MARGINALIZATION: Gbaramatu, Egbema Youths Set Record Straight, Says They Did Not Apologize To EGCDF Over Protest For Inclusion

WARRI________Youths of Egbema and Gbaramatu Kingdoms in Warri North and South-West Local Government Areas of Delta state respectively, have refuted a publication where they were quoted to have apologized to the leadership of Egbema and Gbaramatu Communities Development Foundation, EGCDF, saying the story does not portray what actually happened.

The youths, in a statement signed on their behalf by one of its leaders, Comrade Shadrach Onitsha Ebikeme, said what happened during the meeting was that an agreement was reached for all stakeholders to work in peace and harmony for the overall interests of the youths.

The statement reads, “During the meeting, we said the protest was to draw the attention of the leadership of the EGCDF to some issues of concern, which we succeeded with.”

They reiterated in the statement that there was never a scenario where apology was an issue of discuss but rather all stakeholders agreed to continuously engage the leadership of the two groups to further articulate better ways of handling the said demands.

Stakeholders present also resolved that the leadership of EGCDF should work with the youths for speedy development of communities in the two kingdoms.
