In a rare show of love, Amb. John Dekawei foundation has donated a parcel of land to the CEO of The Liberator Newspaper.
The land measuring 50 x 100, located in the choice area of Warri Delta State Nigeria was donated to the organization on Thursday.
Ajosibe Justin Bebenimibo, popularly known as MC Collabo and Mr. Wisdom, represented the foundation at the official presentation of titles and documents of the land.
While presenting the documents, Bebenimibo said “today being the 14th of January 2021 which happens to be the birth anniversary of Mrs John Dekawei, wife of John Dekawei, Chairman and founder of the John Dekawei Foundation in line with the foundation’s objectives of rewarding hard work, the foundation is pleased to donate the dry and strategically placed land to the Liberator Newspapers for its objective coverage of events around the country and beyond for years now.
“This is our way of reaching out to people that have contributed to the betterment of the society. It is our prayer that as we donate this land to you, may you continue to grow, you shall have the financial muscle to embark on any project from here and beyond.
“We present this land to you after consulting our Chairman, Amb. John Dekawei, his lovely wife and other members of the foundation which to us is one of the best way in celebrating our wife’s birthday, Mrs John Dekawei.
He also noted that “there could be no better way to show appreciation to a media organization that has given so much to the society by way of information, education and entatainment over the years with credibility.
Justin noted that the Liberator Newspapers has done so much in the reportage of events, people and places in the Ijaw nation, the Niger Delta region, Delta State, Nigeria and the entire world, a task it has done with visible high level of precision and honesty.
Mr Collabo said the newspaper has carefully followed events in the Niger Delta, reporting cases of oil spillage, environmental degredation, deprivation and marginalization which are major challenges bedeviling the region, giving them the needed publicity that attracts attention, this he said, makes the Liberator Newspapers a very important partner in the struggle for the total emancipation of the region.
In his reaction, Chairman/ Editor-in- Chief of The Liberator Newspapers Amb. Princewil Binebai said words may not be enough to explain how elated and grateful he is to the foundation for the kind gesture.
He noted that such kindness will spur him to do more in his quest to inform and educate the society, promising to remain an instrument of peace and social engineering that will help drive the needed economic and political development of the Niger Delta and Nigeria.
The Chairman said, the Liberator Newspapers will continue to serve the society and remain a pace setter in the industry by upholding the fundamental tenets of the journalism profession which includes objectivity, truth, impact, human angle. Etc.
He assured that his prayers are always with the foundation, saying he will never disappoint them “even as we move forward to establish even stronger ties. History has been made by the John Dekawei Foundation, we deeply appreciate this kind gesture, a lack words to truly appreciate the foundation, John Dekawei, his lovely wife and of course Azosibe Justin Bebenimibo for his role in all this, I am hugely indebted to you people. May God continue to bless Amb. John Dekawei”.
Meanwhile, staff and fans of The Liberator Newspaper have continue to appreciate the foundation for not allowing the crucial job the organisation is doing to go unnoticed.
Those who spoke shortly after the presentation said the gesture was well deserved, they urged other members of the society to emulate Amb. John Dekawei foundation while urging the Liberator Newspaper to remain professional in the discharge of duties.
