KUNUKUNUMA WARD 17: Group Rejects Imposition Of Chief Shola Gbofeyin On Kantu By Leaders, Calls On Otuaro, Esiso, Guwor, Others To Intervene

Coastal News

A group under the aegis of Kantu Political Leaders, ( KPL ). Has rejected the candidacy of Chief Shola Gbofeyin as the Councillorship candidate for Kunukunuma Ward 17, in the forthcoming Local Government elections In Delta State.

The group asserted that, Chief Shola Gbofeyin is not a consensus candidate of the community. As he is been handpicked by few individuals in the community without the due knowledge of both the Political Leaders and the generality of the people in the community.

The Political group, further alleged that, Chief Gbofeyin, being an indigene of the community. Has never taken part in the community politics, neither has he identified himself with various structures in the community.

The group therefore, calls on the Deputy Governor of the State, His Excellency, Barr Kingsley Otuaro, The Chairman PDP Delta State, Barr. Kingsley Esiso, The Honourable Member Representing Warri South West Constituency in the Delta State House Of Assembly, Hon. Emomotimi Guwor and others. To quickly intervene in the issue, in order to curb what the group called Abnormally in the Ward.

Details here:

“We humbly and respectfully write to complain about the abnormality taking place in the Kunukunuma Ward 17”.

We are here to state that, Chief Shola Gbofeyin is not the person picked by the Kantu Political Group. And he is not a politician in anyway, and has never participated in voting or any political issues in the ward. As such, we are rejecting this imposed August visitor candidate.

More oppressive and degrading is that, the person in question was picked without the knowledge of the political leaders in Kantu.

Furthermore, the Councillorship is rotational within the four (4) Communities in the ward. Which are; Kunukunama, Kantu, Pepeama and Kurutie,

Going by this rotational formula, it is now the turn of Kantu community to produce the next Councilor of the Ward.

In the above regard, we are rejecting the said Chief Shola Gbofeyin. And our collective choice is Ama Eyiangho.

“We therefore, call on the Deputy Governor of the State, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro, The Chairman PDP Delta State, Barr. Kingsley Esiso, The Member Representing Warri South West Constituency in Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, The Chairman PDP Delta South, The Ward Chairman, Chief Joseph Wuruyai, The Chairman Kantu Community and every other well meaning individual. To urgently and positively address this issue”.
