ASABA________The special assistant to the governor of Delta State, His Excellency senator (PhD) Ifeanyi Okowa on political matters, comrade Ozobo Austin has lauded his boss and South-South governors over their firm resolves and demands on resource control, true Federalism and relocation of headquarters of international oil companies residing outside the shores of Niger Delta region in the Port-harcourt meeting with Buhari’s delegation.
Ozobo who doubles as Niger Delta frontline activist insisted that there should be more serious efforts by the Niger Delta governors and stakeholders and that the renewed agitation of the South South governors was beyond mere presentation of demand but needs more vigorous efforts to achieve it.
The right activist said the 7-point demand presented to the Federal government delegation by the South South governors were part of the issues that gave birth the recent Niger Delta agitations that almost crippled Nigeria economy.
Ozobo’s aide, said he was glad that Niger Delta governors had seen the need to throwed weight behind the region’s age longed demand for resource control and relocation of operational headquarters of IOCs to Niger Delta region.
The right defender further asserted that the demands made by the Niger Delta governors should not be treated with levity as any delay in implementation may sparked another agitation in Niger Delta.
Ozobo re-echoed that there was no going back on the demands of resource control, true Federalism and relocation of operational headquarters of international oil companies operating in Niger Delta region.
He assured His Excellency senator Ifeanyi Okowa and other South-South governors of complete support of Niger Delta youths and agitators to persuade the Federal government to implement the region’s demands.
