The Leadership of the Ijaw Youth Council ( IYC ) Gbaramatu structure. Has congratulated the Niger Delta Freedom Fighter, High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo. Over his victory in court, on the case of fraud leveled against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

The youths body described the victory of Tompolo as a vindication of the people of Gbaramatu Kingdom, and the entire Ijaw nation. As the victory shows that the Gbaramatu people and the Ijaws as a whole are not thives.

The youths body expressed their congratulations in a press release signed by the Chairman, Comrade Peter Pudie. Of which a copy was sent to Coastal Times.

Comrade Pudie in the press release, appreciated the Freedom Fighter, for his steadfastness and commitment in fostering a united and liberated Ijaw nation. Despite passing through dark days before his freedom.

The IYC Chairman noted that, Tompolo’s role in keeping peace and security in the Niger Delta is one that cannot be overemphasized. As the overall peace and security enjoyed in the region over the years, is as a result of his tireless efforts, in curtailing criminal elements in the region.

Comrade Peter Pudie asserted that, Tompolo is one man that deserves an award from the Federal Government, for his immeasurable contribution towards the sustainance of peace and security in the Niger Delta, where the entire wealth of the nation is located.

He therefore, called on the Federal Government and Security Agencies in the country to lay modalities, in partnering Tompolo. So as to further ensure peace and stability in the Niger Delta. As Tompolo has the capacity.

The Youths Leader as well, used the medium to call on the Niger Delta Freedom Fighter, to continue with his good works, and not relent in his pursuit for a better Ijaw nation and Niger Delta. As he is at the moment, the very hope of the Ijaw nation, and Niger Delta region at large.

Comrade Peter going further, charged Operatives of the Anti Craft Agency, EFCC, to employ adequate professionalism while discharging their duties. And not allow few individuals in the country to use the Agency as a political weapon, against their foes.

He charged the Agency to display a high level of fairness. In order to attract the confidence of Nigerians. Even as the Agency is set aside to checkmate and curtail crime in the country.

Comrade Pudie also, used the avenue to commend the Federal High Court Lagos, and the entire Nigerian Judiciary. For being fair and just in their dealings. And for taking their time, energy and resources to investigate the allegations leveled against Tompolo by the EFCC. And carrying out a honest and fair judgement. Thereby, declaring the Freedom Fighter not guilty of the allegations.

He further pointed out that, the judgement pass by the Federal High Court, has further boosted the trust and confidence of Nigerians in the Judiciary. As this shows that, the Judiciary is indeed out to proclaim justice.
