2020 CHILDRENS’ DAY: PAUL KURUGBE CHARGES PARENTS TO ALLOW CHILDREN CHOOSE THEIR CAREERS_Coastal Times

Parents have been enjoined to motivate and stimulate their children’s interest in choosing careers of their choice that would bring fulfillment to both the children and parents

The Member representing Delta South Senatorial District in the State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, Mr. Paul Kurugbe made the call on Wednesday while interacting with Parents on Social Media Network Group in commemoration of the the 2020 International Children’s day celebration.

Mr. Kurugbe while addressing parents and Guardians online, assured them that the Delta State Government was not resting on its oars in bequeathing an educational legacy that would guarantee a solid future for children in the State.

While asserting, that children are the leaders of tomorrow, Mr. Kurugbe stressed the need for laying a strong and solid foundation that would prepare children for future leadership positions in the country as well as nation builders.

He said, since the creation of Delta State in 1991, the State has recorded numerous achievements and has produced men and women who are increasingly filling up political and administrative positions in the country by virtue of her huge investment in education.

It reads:

“In Delta State, we see education as critical investment in human resource and an instrument of nation building. It serves as a tool to nurture a cohesive society, an enlightened, and responsive populace.” Kurugbe said.

While congratulating and wishing them a happy Children’s day celebration in spite of the Covid-19 Pandemic Scare in the country, the SUBEB member advised pupils in the State to be studious, hardworking and see themselves as light to the world even as he harped on the need to serve diligently so that one day they may also see themselves at the top.

“Remember that without passion which is a burning desire, your goals might not come to fruition. Remain focused and steadfast; learn to appreciate your class mates, parents, teachers, siblings and all those you come in contact with” He advised.

Mr. Paul Kurugbe who lauded the State Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for his massive investment in education and provision of other critical infrastructures in the State, also commended the Chairman of the Board, Mr. Sunny Ogwu for his leadership role in piloting the affairs of the Board.
