A Niger Delta basd NGO, the Center for Peace and Environmental Justice, CEPEJ has launched an aggressive campaign against the spread of a novel coronavirus, Covid-19 in Delta State.
The National Coordinator of the NGO, Comrade (Chief) Sheriff Mulade kicked off the campaign on Wednesday 8th April, 2020 at the Palace of the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom, Orhue the First, in Orerokpe, Headquarters of Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State.
Items donated by the CEPEJ Team included hand sanitizers, liquid soap and food items including palm oil, bags of garri amongst others to support those in need during the 14 days COVID-19 lockdown.
He said the NGO was doing this to cushion the economic effects of the two weeks lockdown on the people of Ugolo-Okpe where CEPEJ is based, and other parts of the Council Area, as part of the NGO’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.
The items were received by a palace official, Mr. Johnson Odumrhen on behalf of the Monarch, for onward distribution to residents of Okpe Local Govt Area.
